This Privacy Policy explains how Skip Repairs LLC, doing business as Shiftly Fleet ("Shiftly Fleet", "we", "us"), collects, uses and protects personal information. It covers our vehicle rental and leasing customers, the drivers who lease our vehicles, and anyone who receives text messages from us.
Information we collect
- Contact details: name, mobile phone number, email address and mailing address.
- Driver's license details: license number, issuing state, date of birth and the other information printed on or encoded in the license.
- Identity photos: photos of the front and back of your driver's license and a photo of your face (a selfie), when you choose to send them to us through a secure link.
- Lease and vehicle records: the vehicles you lease, lease dates, payments, and traffic, parking and toll violations issued while you had a vehicle.
- Text message records: your consent to receive text messages, the date of that consent, and the messages we send you.
How we use your information
- To create and keep your customer record, and to verify your identity when you become a customer.
- To prepare, manage and enforce your lease.
- To transfer liability for traffic, parking and toll violations to the driver who had the vehicle at the time, as the law and your lease allow. This means we share the required details with the government or toll authority that issued the violation.
- To send you the text messages described in our Terms & Conditions, such as a secure link to upload photos of your driver's license.
- To meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations, and to protect our vehicles and our business.
Text messages
We send text messages only to people who gave us their mobile number and agreed to receive them. You can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only:
- with government agencies and toll authorities, to transfer violations as described above, or when the law requires it;
- with service providers who run our systems for us, such as hosting, data storage and text message delivery. They may use the information only to provide those services to us;
- with a buyer or successor if our business is sold or merged, under the same protections as this policy.
Text message opt-in data and consent records are never shared with anyone for their marketing purposes.
How we protect information
We store customer records and identity photos in private systems that only authorized staff can reach. Access is limited to the company that holds your record. Links we send for uploading photos expire after 30 minutes and work only once. Photos sent through a link that is never used to create a customer record are deleted about one day after the link expires.
How long we keep information
We keep customer and lease records for as long as you are a customer, and afterwards for as long as we need them to handle violations, disputes, and legal, tax and insurance requirements.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving text messages.
- Contact us to ask what information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct it.
- Contact us to ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep by law or under your lease.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
